I have a Diploma in Humanistic Creative Counselling. I believe that everybody has the inherent desire and ability to lead a more fulfilling life. My training focused on the Gestalt, Person Centred and Existential schools of counselling. These modalities combined with my life experience and years in 12 Step Fellowships gives me a rounded outlook on the counsellor/client relationship. As someone who is in recovery from addictions, I have extensive experience working with drug, alcohol and sex addictions. The creative part of the training has shown me how to use different tools in the therapy room to access feelings and emotions that may be locked away. These include sand tray, two chair work and various artistic tools.
Recently I have been diagnosed as being bipolar and ADHD. While I am unable to diagnose any of my clients, if you are or believe you are neuro-diverse, we can work together to come up with effective methods of utilising the positives of neuro-diversity.
Some of the things I cover (but not all) - grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions.
I am a member of the BACP.
I work Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and my times are flexible. My office is between Wendover and Princes Risborough. I also work via Zoom and telephone. Please note, I do have several cats. Please keep this in mind if you are booking a face to face session in my office and have an allergy to cats. I can either make sure they stay out of the room but cannot guarantee there will not be cat hair.
In the meantime, if you are struggling, here are some important telephone numbers that you may find useful.
If you are stressed, I also recommend the Insight Timer app. It’s free and has lots of different guided meditations. It can be downloaded from the Google Playstore or from the Apple Appstore.
